What to Expect in the Sessions

Recommendations for Play Therapy is between 7 and 12 sessions

Session 1 – Parent Interview: Parents / guardians will meet with the therapist to discuss history and presenting problem.

Session 2 – The child and therapist meet for the first session. The therapist does an initial assessment and sets goals for the child.

Sessions 3, 4, and 5 – Child attends sessions to work on goals.

Session 6 – Parent feedback. The therapist meets with the parents / guardians to discuss interpretations, feedback and recommendations. During the parent session it will be determined if additional sessions will be required.

Session 7 – Termination. The therapist will meet with the child to terminate therapy.
